Labor and Employment Attorney
San Francisco, CA Direct-Hire $250000.00 - $325000.00 Hybrid

Job Description

A highly regarded and growing employment law practice is seeking a skilled mid-to-senior-level associate with four to seven years of California employment law experience.

The practice represents employers ranging from emerging businesses to large, sophisticated organizations facing complex workplace issues. The team advises clients on a broad spectrum of employment matters, providing both strategic litigation defense and proactive counseling. Attorneys work closely with clients to develop practical solutions that balance legal risk, business objectives, costs, and reputational considerations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant experience handling a wide range of employment litigation matters, including disability accommodation, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes (including class and representative actions), and restrictive covenant issues.
  • A demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor junior attorneys, manage complex cases with minimal oversight, and develop strong client relationships.
  • Experience representing employers in federal and state courts, arbitration proceedings, administrative agency matters, and appellate proceedings.
  • Strong judgment, initiative, business acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.

While this position is litigation-focused, experience providing preventive employment counseling and advising clients on risk management strategies before disputes arise is highly valued.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and trusted advisor who can leverage strong litigation skills, leadership abilities, and practical problem-solving techniques to help clients navigate their most challenging employment matters in a collaborative and client-focused setting.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status. We consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with state and local laws, including the California Fair Chance Act, City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance, and San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
